noissue Partners with Poshmark to Decrease Environmental Impact of the Growing Secondhand Fashion Industry

Eco-friendly custom packaging company noissue has teamed up with leading fashion resale platform Poshmark to decrease the amount of plastic used in shipping secondhand clothing and goods across North America.

The secondhand apparel market has seen tremendous growth over the past several years, a victory not only for consumers’ wallets and closets, but also for the environment and the tremendous toll fast fashion takes on the planet. Resale has grown 21 times faster than the retail apparel market over the past three years, and is estimated to actually surpass fast fashion within the next ten years.

However, with that growth comes more packaging waste—specifically, thin plastic polybags and mailers which can’t be recycled. That’s why Poshmark collaborated with noissue on a 100% backyard compostable mailer. These were included in 2019 Poshfest goody bags.

Made from a combination of corn-based biopolymers, the mailers will compost in six months and are certified for both home and commercial compost. Plus, they are write-able, stretch-able, print-able, durable, stick-able, waterproof, and have a shelf life of at least nine months.

The mailers are quickly gaining traction on Instagram, with #secondhandfashion advocates excited to do their part to help the planet… and their closets.

“It is 2019. It doesn’t matter if you’re a Fortune 500 company or a boutique shop owner—we should all be striving to be eco-friendly.”— Josh Bowden, Co-Founder, noissue
