Treasures of NYC x noissue

For many in the Empire State, vintage is always better because the quality endures despite the test of time, adding to its charm. Vintage pieces also become a more viable option than buying brand new, for obvious reasons, but also because giving another life to an existing garment is a way to engage with fashion more sustainably.

For the renowned "Vintage-Dealers", Treasures of NYC, vintage-dealing is all that plus an exceptional deal of fun and weirdness. Treasures’ mission is to “redefine luxury by bringing the edge back to high fashion", which they do perfectly with their extensive collection of one-of-a-kind vintage pieces from the biggest global fashion houses and a show of their signature maximalism in their “Clubhouse” interiors, social pages, and more.

Treasures also extends that same brand of fun and authenticity to their packaging, so they partnered with noissue for their personalized collection of sustainable packaging that ranges from compostable tissue wrapping paper and boxes to tattoo-inspired, multi-design stickers. Tell us a bit about your brand!

Brit Blanco-Bird and Robert Bird, the founders of Treasures of NYC

Treasures of NYC was founded in 2017 and is a vintage designer resale company. At that time, we saw a gap in the market for people who wanted to start their vintage designer collections that didn't quite fit in with the stigma surrounding higher end vintage or designer.

Everything that existed was stuffy and uptight so we figured we would try to create a place that we would want to shop. Our goal was always to create a brand that reminded our customers and really anyone that nothing is too serious to not have fun and be weird while also collecting your amazing vintage pieces.

Tell us about the design for your packaging and how you’re using them?

All of the packaging design is based loosely off of tattoos that we both have and have collected over the years. Some of our tattoos are professional, some we did ourselves, and some are random street tattoos we’ve gotten from Washington Square Park, random friends, etc.

We wanted our packaging to reflect who we were as a brand and who we are as the people behind the brand. Also, we wanted to create something that was fun and interesting enough that people would want to keep or reuse it to craft or collage or whatever. Everyone loves something interesting to look at. 😉

What made noissue a good fit for your packaging?

noissue really understood what we were trying to accomplish with our packaging. Obviously we are not packaging experts. We know what we like and what we don’t like, but we really were looking for a solid partner to help take our ideas and execute them and that is why they made a perfect fit. We brought the ideas and they helped make those ideas into tangible products that we could use to further tell our brand story.
