We chatted with the team at Post Sole Studio about the intricacies of creating locally-made and handcrafted footwear that lasts through the times and how the final piece of the puzzle for the ultimate unboxing experience of their classic pieces is just a pop of color in their noissue tissue.
Tell us a bit about your brand, introduce it to the world!
We have a unique story and approach to making shoes - making them ourselves, locally at our Abbotsford studio/factory. Our ethos is to create considered, meticulously constructed, timeless footwear.
Post Sole Studio is a manifestation of Breeze and Myra - we met making shoes in Naarm, a once-bustling epicenter of shoemaking that has sadly lost most of its industry to offshore manufacturers. P.S.S was born in 2014 out of our love of shoemaking and a desire to keep the local industry alive. Breeze is a New Zealand-born creative and problem solver who started making her own shoes as a result of a lifelong struggle of finding shoes that fit. Myra is the organizer and operator of the business, who fell in love with working with leather after realizing the delicate nature of fabric was not for her. As shoemakers first, and designers second, we work hard to balance functionality, comfort, and design in our footwear.
We continue to make shoes from locally sourced materials, and provide ongoing repairs in house for our shoes. Our commitment to devising ways to break patterns of waste and environmental damage means that we mostly make to order. We are proud to be one of the last standing businesses making shoes locally in Australia.
Tell us about the design for your packaging and how you’re using them?
We use noissue for our tissue paper, that keeps our shoes protected in their boxes. It is printed simply with our signature green color with our logo, which works perfectly with our boxes - and we love seeing the pop of color when unboxing shoes.
What made noissue a good fit for your packaging?
The online re-order system makes placing and tracking orders super efficient, which we appreciate.
