We chatted with Tessa, Fashion Designer and Owner of Atelier Solana, about how her brand moves away from fast fashion in favor of a slower, more fulfilling cycle for garment creation through made-to-order knitwear in designs that survive the times and how noissue reflects the brand’s mission of sustainability.
Tell us a bit about your brand, introduce it to the world!
Atelier Solana is an ethical knitwear label based on the West Coast of Canada. We strive to create timeless, heirloom-quality styles that you can treasure for a lifetime, transcending seasons and trends. Sustainability is at the forefront of everything that we do, operating on a closed-loop system and using natural materials to make every single garment that we produce. All of our items are made-to-order, ensuring that our customers get the perfect fit for their body, while completely avoiding the creation of textile waste which is unfortunately so common in the fashion industry.
Tell us about the design for your packaging and how you’re using them?
Our new noissue packaging adds a touch of luxury to the experience for our customers, incorporating our timeless, elegant logos into the designs.
We use noissue tissue paper and stickers to wrap garments with, and offer organic cotton noissue drawstring bags in each order, with the intention that they will be reused and repurposed for whatever the customer chooses. We also use noissue's Kraft mailers and 100% compostable mailers to ship our orders in, to avoid the use of harmful single-use plastics. These are also able to be reused a second time! Our noissue hang tags, shipping labels, and reinforced gummed tape also highlight our sustainable mission while sharing our branding with the world.
What made noissue a good fit for your packaging?
We chose noissue because sustainability is at the forefront of their mission, just like our own. As a clothing company, we feel that it is our responsibility to have a positive impact on the planet and we want to take every step that we can to do so. Using packaging that has been produced sustainably simply aligns with our values. We really value the transparency that noissue offers - we know exactly what we are getting with every one of their products and the impact that it will have. We also appreciate that noissue does not require us to purchase more than we need, which eliminates excess waste. We couldn't be more pleased with our new custom packaging, it has been a dream seeing it all come to life.
