Just as many creatives and designers revolutionize the fashion industry through out-of-this-world ideas, a lot of innovators and engineers also strive to come up with top-notch technologies by threading sustainability in every way possible. So in today’s market—where you can count on endless options for your endless needs—it is imperative to choose a style that doesn’t compromise your values: zero-waste fabrication, quality-made materials, and timeless designs. HER THE LABEL has these and more.

HER THE LABEL’s showroom in Santa Barbara, California

The idea for HER THE LABEL came to fruition when founder and designer Emily Hess discovered the Japanese wholegarment knitting technology. Since this technique makes producing an entire piece of clothing with no fabric wasted possible, paired with certified responsible wool yarns from Italy, consciously opting for a more sustainable wardrobe is made easier. What’s even better is that each piece is designed in classic and timeless silhouettes, ensuring that it will seamlessly blend into your wardrobe regardless of the season.

Their efforts to put circularity and sustainability at the forefront of the brand extend not only to their products but further into their packaging as well. By partnering with noissue, HER THE LABEL ensures that every garment is shipped sustainably and in style. Their FSC-certified and recycled packaging is not only designed to be composted after use, but to inspire their customers to choose sustainability too. Read more about this below!

Tell us a bit about your brand!

HER THE LABEL was born out of the vision to create premium knitwear that combines timeless elegance with seamless design.

Founder Emily Hess started designing the foundational collection with the concept of zero-waste in mind, as creating new fashion will never be perfectly sustainable but eliminating unnecessary waste is a start.

After discovering a revolutionary knitting machine capable of wholegarment seamless construction, she began to form a complete capsule wardrobe - all knit from certified ethical virgin Merino Wool from Italy.
