A good neighborhood bakery is one of the many things that make up a great community: reliable enough to always deliver freshly baked goods every day and cozy enough to feel like a second home. One of Pasadena’s up-and-coming bakeries, OH LA LA, is checking all of those boxes and more. This bakery opened its doors in 2023 and has since been recognized not only for its yummy selection of French breads and pastries but also for its eye-catching turquoise exterior and French script logo.
Third-generation French baker Jean-Paul Veziano started OH LA LA with Maxence Bouvier and Thomas Kocer. He also teamed up with chefs Morgan Hawthorne and Tristan Bournot, both of whom studied under Veziano in France before the launch. With such skills, experience, and extensive knowledge brought to the table by the team behind the brand, it’s no surprise that OH LA LA's baked creations are on par with those from high-class bakeries in France.
OH LA LA is also committed to using traditional methods and ingredients to make their breads and pastries, hence their use of 50-year-old yeast in making their viennoiseries. Their food and drink selections, which include (but are not limited to) pastries such as croissants, baguettes, and choux, also offer specialty coffee drinks, fresh fruit juices, sandwiches, and breakfast and brunch meals, all of which you can enjoy with friends, family, and even by yourself.
As a bakery, café, and kitchen all in one, it’s integral that their branding is consistent across all types of food products they offer, whether that be for dine-in or takeout orders. In order to do that, OH LA LA partnered with noissue to create a sustainable food packaging suite that fits their brand perfectly—quality-, aesthetically-, and sustainability-wise.
First off, OH LA LA uses two types of food-safe paper for packing the breads, pastries, and sandwiches. One is our Custom Food Paper, which is made with FSC-certified paper and uses water-based inks for printing details, making it 100% safe in contact with food. They also use our Custom Grease Resistant Paper, which has one side treated and is recyclable.
For their specialty coffee, matcha, and any other drinks, they use our Custom Recyclable Double Wall Coffee Cups and Custom Cold Cups. These coffee cups are made with FSC-certified and food-safe materials, so they’re 100% safe to use for any type of drink. The cold cups are printed using vibrant soy-based inks, so any color of your choice is effortlessly reflected on the cups. Both of these are recyclable too!
And lastly, to seal it all off, they use our Custom Sticker Sheets and Custom Roll Labels. Both of these customized labels are compostable, while the release liners are recyclable, made with FSC-certified materials, printed with soy-based inks, and come in convenience with either sheets or rolls. What else could be as awesome as these?
As to why noissue has been (and still is) a good fit for OH LA LA’s food packaging essentials, we ask Maxence Bouvier: “noissue is a service we've been using since our launch last year, and the quality has always been top-notch! The product range and its level of customization allow our food startup to express strong and assertive branding. I can definitely say that noissue has been a major contributor to our rapid growth.”
